With so much base haste on gear and items with haste procs currently on live servers, it is very likely some DD have been up against the 1 sec GC with their spell casting at one time or another. For a mage, firing Icy Veins during Heroism and blowing a Speed Potion all while Black Magic procs is not out of the realm of possibility - and depending on what your base haste at the time, some of the extra haste can go to waste.  So how much haste will put you over during these situations? Well, to help you figure that out, there's an app for that....well kinda.

Its a simple calculator: enter your haste from gear, select conditions in the checkboxes, and watch how close you get to the GC.

Nice link.  As a Holy Paladin I am soft capped on haste but haste still provides a great benefit to reducing holy light cast times.  The site makes it easier to play with the numbers.
